RECAP generates bounded language and composes existing families

The 2026-10-31 source report describes 38 atomic RECAP records across seven bounded language families as present in active production. It reports inherited ancestor qualification: 6/6 training families, 12/12 unseen semantic variants, 32/32 new-record ablations, 12/12 reload checks, 17/17 hidden transfer cases, five-surface parity, and no family regressions. A bounded recursive-composition record is also reported active with inherited qualification. The active-model identity matched the report at review time; the family qualification suite was not rerun for this release.

Research question

Can selected conversational acts be represented and composed as bounded typed generators with inspectable claims and sentence provenance?

Why this matters

Structured generators make selected outputs and their claim boundaries more inspectable than an unrestricted fluent-generation claim.

What was tested

Typed generator records for causal explanations, practical plans, balanced comparisons, requirements clarification, correction repair, structured thinking, and retained-knowledge explanations; one bounded record recursively composes existing families.

Baseline

No claim of unrestricted natural-language generation or broad understanding.

Comparison conditions

Reported active-record inventory and ancestor qualification results; current active-model identity reconciled; ancestor semantic, ablation, reload, and transfer suites not rerun for this release.

Test environment

Active production model as represented by the 2026-10-31 report snapshot.

Observed result

The source report lists 38 atomic records and seven bounded families, with inherited qualification counts. It also reports one recursive-composition record active with bounded ancestor checks. These values are attributed to the source report, not presented as new measurements.

Outcome

Reported active inherited production; bounded generator families and composition only.

Measured results

Measurement conditions: Every count is source-report-derived and inherited; no language-family qualification or recursive-composition test was freshly run in this release.

Evaluation method

Review the report’s active-production and inherited ancestor-qualification statements; reconcile current active model identity, while retaining the report’s distinction between active records and historical qualification.

External model usage

The source report attributes zero external-model calls to the inherited qualification results.

Limitations

Bounded typed generator families; qualification is inherited, not newly rerun. Does not establish unrestricted language generation, broad semantics, arbitrary discourse invention, or general understanding.
